How can I draw in more attention?
I've been thinking about the marketing part of self publishing a lot lately. I know when you self publish you are more than just an author. Your job is doing everything that needs to be down for the book. Promotions, giveaways, advertisements, paying for ads, paying for covers, paying for editing, asking people to review your book. It's all up to you, and it's a big job. How would I be able to get my name out there? I know I will have to make a facebook page soon. I was also thinking about making business cards and giving them to people that I come across who actually want to read my work. I don't have much money to put into self publishing, so I would like to focus on the things that will pay off for me. I think the reviewers are the most important part of self publishing, but how do I approach them? When is the right time? Do I approach them now, or when my book is on sale? I just feel a little lost when it comes to marketing.
